"Copthorne London Gatwick doesn’t even look like a hotel from the outside and that’s one of the many things I loved about it. I felt like I had a home to come back to every night, not just a hotel room. It’s a 16th century farmhouse that’s been converted to a 227-room hotel. It sits on acres and acres of woodlands and lovely gardens and is replete with a fully equipped gym, squash courts, swimming pool and Jacuzzi. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly but very hands-off, which is nice when you’re just looking to relax. If you love good food, then you much check out the hotel’s restaurant Lion d’Or. The food there is award winning. Though the hotel is very close to London’s Gatwick Airport, it’s situated away from most attractions, requiring a short drive. But to me, that was the best part of the hotel—it felt like a getaway, rather than a tourist location. "
