Sometimes overshadowed by San Francisco and Los Angeles, Sacramento is California's capital and a destination in its own right. The urban center of California's sedate and tranquil Central Valley, where agriculture reigns supreme, it is located at the confluence of the Sacramento and American Rivers. A couple of universities, great museums, and some fine dining make a visit here a pleasure.
