Guide To Las Vegas
Who wouldn't get hungry after the heart-thumping excitement, wondrous shopping and eye-popping spectacle of Las Vegas! You're now ready to discover the most appetizing parts of Las Vegas.

Las Vegas offers the most amazing culinary adventures at affordable prices.

A drive down Las Vegas Boulevard (a.k.a. the Strip) will bring you to Paris, with an eclectic breakfast buffet that's much loved for its distinctive food selection and atmosphere. The sumptuous spread is an excellent value! You can spot the gondolas of Venice a short distance away.

A passageway connects Paris Hotel and Casino to Bally's , which offers a variety of onsite fine dining and amazing shopping at The Forum Shops, just one block away! Just a block and a half from Bally's is the laid-back Best Western Tuscany Hotel and Casino, where you can enjoy fine dining at Palazzo's Steakhouse or friendly affordable dining at Marilyn's.

The breathtaking Bellagio isn't far, tempting you with its landscaped botanical gardens, majestic fountains and a sparkling 10-acre lake. Bellagio is equally tempting to your taste buds, with such restaurants as Le Cirque of New York, Aqua of San Francisco and Olives of Boston. You'll relish high tea at the Petrosssian Bar, where exquisite brocade sofas and tall chairs draped in velvet set the mood for high tea (2pm to 5pm). Pay tribute to this very English custom by tucking in the delicious sandwiches, scones and clotted cream, pastries and exotic teas.

Picasso, one of the only two five-star restaurants in Nevada, makes the Bellagio its home.

After your European sojourn, a giant indoor rainforest provides a refreshing detour in the middle of the Las Vegas Strip. It's The Mirage , ready to tease your taste buds with 12 happening restaurants and snack bars, bars and lounges. Don't miss the new Polynesian-theme bar offering exotic specialty drinks. At nightfall, The Mirage stages some of the most popular shows in Vegas including the critically-acclaimed Mystere. Definitely a must-see!

Just two years shy of its golden Anniversary, the Riviera Hotel and Casino on the Strip is a legend in itself, serving guests with tradition and style, promising 'top value for your room, food and entertainment dollar!'

If you fancy a themed menu (this is Vegas, remember!) step into New York, New York to enjoy a whiff of the world famous Gallagher's steak house or the racy ESPN Zone. But before you tuck in, don't forget to check out the famous Coney island-style roller coaster Manhattan Express!

At lunch, get pampered by celebrity chefs such as Wolfgang Puck, Mark Miller and Emeril Lagasse at MGM Grand . (Just in case you can't make up your mind, you'll delight in the freshest Oyster and divine banana cream pies at Emeril's.)

While you're at MGM Grand , The Grand Adventures Theme Park (at the intersection between The Strip and Tropicana Ave) promises thrilling action and adventure.

The Tropicana Resort and Casino is a stone's throw from the Park, set amid five acres of tropically landscaped grounds, pools, lagoons and waterfalls. It offers a rare culinary journey, with five onsite restaurants offering delectable Japanese, Caribbean and international cuisine.

Grab a coffee at the Sundance Bar and Grill ( Silverton Hotel and Casino , Blue Diamond Road). Their brick oven pizzas are a treat! Located one block on the Strip, the Silverton is good value for a stay and offers a deli and a buffet open from 7 am to 10:30pm.

Las Vegas has a way of stoking your appetite for the bigger, richer and the glitzier. The Rio (Flamingo Rd.) has a unique way of satisfying it. Its five fine-dining restaurants and ten casual dining spots are worth checking out. But the real star is undoubtedly the Carnival World Buffet - the largest buffet in Vegas and one of the finest.

The Voodoo café and lounge at the 51 st floor offer a scintillating view of Las Vegas. The Rio also stages one of the best FREE shows in Vegas.

Another famed attraction is The Fremont Street Experience , a stone's throw from the Golden Nugget . If you're lucky you might get to stay at one of their Victorian-style redecorated rooms overlooking the distant Sierra Nevada Mountains. But for now you have food on your mind, so head for one of the five luxurious onsite restaurants.

From The Rio at Flamingo Rd. take the Rancho Drive to get to the Nevada Zoological Park , where your brush with the big cats should whet your hunger for the "Feast from around the world" buffet at Texas Station (Texas Star Lane). Situated within a kilometer off the Park, Texas Station has many onsite offerings for your dining pleasure- including Austin's steakhouse, San Lorenzo Italian Restaurant for fine dining, Texas Star Oyster Bar and Texas Café.

For a taste of history, head for the Golden Gate Hotel and Casino. Built in 1906, it's the oldest on Fremont Street. The Golden Gate was the first to serve the famous shrimp cocktail, which can still be had for 99 cents at their Shrimp Bar and Deli. The Bay City Diner is another great value, loved for its outstanding traditional entrees.

With so much to sample, Las Vegas is rapidly emerging as a culinary capital, catering to different tastes and pocketbooks.
