You’d swear you were in a lavish Hong Kong resort – stunning lake and fountain views, fine French wines, sparkling chandeliers, fresh flowers…but you’re actually inside the famed Las Vegas Bellagio hotel.
Welcome to Jasmine, is what the hostess said when I dined with 3 friends on a summer trip to Las Vegas last year. I’d kind of wished my boyfriend and I had chosen to do Jasmine alone – this restaurant is the perfect romantic dining experience for couples with its sensuous décor and food. Chef Philip Lo, creates what I’d call nouvelle Hong Kong cuisine, it’s a mix of flavorful classic Cantonese, Szechuan and Hunan dishes, infused with contemporary adornments.
Sample live seafood – such as Maine lobster dumplings with ginger sauce, stone crab claws, or how about Chilean sea bass roasted in delicate rose dew wine with light ginger soy, lotus root and asparagus finish - all while you’re surrounded by a still glass lake. During dinner watch the Jasmine also features music synchronized to the soaring fountains of Bellagio’s famed synchronized fountains – accompanied by the tunes of Frank Sinatra and other old Vegas legends.
Its traditional Eastern meets contemporary American glitz – something you would only expect to find in Las Vegas – where else!
