The Dolomites on the Italian border with Austria contain some of the most beautiful mountain scenery in Europe. Here are some places to consider if you’re thinking about booking an Italian ski vacation.

  • Cortina d’Ampezzo, in the northern extremity of the Veneto region of Italy, is a busy skiing destination, with several cable cars and access to many ski runs. Several James Bond films were filmed here. Cortina is also famous for hosting the Winter Olympics and many of the Olympic runs and facilities are still the venues for international winter events.You can rent an apartment, stay in a farmhouse or book a luxury hotel for your stay.
  • Campitello di Fassa is a medium-sized ski resort a in the Fassa Valley in the heart of the Dolomites. Campitello combines old-fashioned ambience with the facilities and luxuries of a modern ski resort. There is a variety of shopping available and a variety of bars and restaurants.
  • Val Gardena in the South Tyrol area is a regular stop onthe World Cup Downhill Tour. The biggest ski attraction is the Sella Ronda, a circular ski route that takes you around the Sella mountain range via the villages of Arabba and Corvara. It can be skied in both directions and covers 26 km of downhill trails in a single day all covered by the Dolomiti Superski Pass.
