It might have happened way back in 1892, but the suspected murder by Lizzie Borden of her father Andrew and stepmother Abby has left a legacy that lives on at the Lizzie Borden Bed and Breakfast. And you’re welcome to share it.
Lizzie Borden was, in fact, found not guilty of the murders, but many believe she was responsible. Whoever you blame, you can check out the scene of the crime at the Lizzie Borden Bed and Breakfast in Fall River, Massachusetts. This is the original Borden home, the very scene of the murders!
You can choose from various rooms in the house, including Lizzie Borden’s room itself, or those of the victims, Andrew and Abby. You can also order the same breakfast that Lizzie’s father and step-mother ate before they died: bananas, johnny-cakes, sugar cookies and coffee. Hopefully, of course, their fate won’t be yours.
Many guests are quite certain that the Lizzie Borden house is haunted. They’ve heard the sound of a woman crying at night, and some have even said the ghost of an older women came to tuck them into bed at night! If this makes you too frightened to stay the night, you can also take a tour of the house; they run on the hour from eleven o’clock, with the last tour at 3.00pm.
