Looking for a 5-star vacation in Nashville, Tennessee? Give the Hermitage a try. This hotel in the heart of Nashville was one of only six hotels in the country added to the prestigious Mobile Travel Guide. The Guide features only 37 hotels, inns, and resorts in North America and bases its recommendations on a combination of cost, quality, comfort, amenities and services.
In 1908, 250 Nashville citizens commissioned the Hermitage Hotel, which didn’t open its doors to the public until September 17th, 1910. At the time the hotel charged a minimum of $2.00 a night for its fireproof, noise proof, and dustproof rooms. The quality of building material earned the hotel a certain reputation and it quickly became known as Nashville’s first million-dollar hotel. For fifty years it thrived as a hub for presidents, actors and actresses, political activists and gangsters. Then its popularity waned and it began the merry-go-round of owners that would see its decline.
In 2000, Historic Hotels of Nashville, LLC bought the property and began a $20 million restoration project in 2002. By Valentines Day, 2003 the hotel reopened to become the only remaining grand hotel in Nashville.
