San Francisco is a historic city that has been known to see its share of tragedy. And rumor has it that some of those historic figures that engaged in exciting lives in San Francisco are still lingering in the city today. There are a number of different hotels in San Francisco which are said to be haunted, some of them by the spirits of famous people.
Haunted hotels in San Francisco include:
•Hotel Majestic – This hotel honors its ghost with a portrait of her in the main lobby.
•Hotel Union Square – Lillian Hellman supposedly haunts Room 207, opening and closing doors and generally making a quiet ruckus.
•Queen Anne Hotel – This building was once a school and there are rumors that an old school teacher never left when it closed down.
•The York Hotel – You don’t actually have to spend the night in this one to get the haunted hotel experience because it’s the bar here, The Empire Plush Room, which is haunted. It’s said that a piano-player named Lester died in the secret room which was once a speakeasy and his spirit has stayed there ever since,
•Westin St. Francis – This is where to go if you’re looking for celebrity ghosts since more than one is said to be here.
