Do you want to go skiing this season, but you’re overwhelmed by the choices available? Here’s what to look for.
- Cost: Price may or may not be a determining factor for you but you should have an approximate idea of what the ski trip will cost. The total cost of the ski resort includes the cost of lift tickets, lessons, equipment rental, lodging and the approximate expense of attractions in the surrounding area. Ask about package deals.
- Skill levels: Most ski resorts offer trails to accommodate skiers of all levels. However, some are geared more to beginners and others to experts. Resorts will generally tell you the percentage they have of trails for each ski level.
- Current and expected snow conditions: You don’t want to turn up and find out that the skiing is bad because there isn’t enough of the right kind of snow. Get an estimate on snow conditions and base snow during the planned time of your trip.
- Entertainment and attractions: You want to know about the ski resort but you should also find out what else is around the area where you’ll be staying. It is a vacation after all!
