Like any other vacation, a family ski trip requires some forethought on your part to ensure that everyone has a good time. Here are some tips:
• Look for deals in advance to ensure you get the best deal, whether you’re going close to home or far away.
• Do your research. Plan for the trip by reading books and websites about skiing. This should be a family activity that’s done together in the weeks leading up to the trip.
• Find a ski resort that offers activities other than skiing. Ski resorts in Tahoe, for example, offer snow tubing for the kids as well as nightlife in nearby Reno for the adults.
• Make sure the slopes are kid-friendly. Most ski resorts are good for all ages and levels but if you’re taking ylung children, you should look for ones that stress that they have lots of good kid-friendly slopes.
• Sign up for some lessons when you first get there. The whole family can learn a little from the safety and ski tips provided by these lessons and it’s just another group activity that you can enjoy together.
• Borrow ski equipment, particularly if you’re new to skiing.
• Make evening time family time. If you’re out on the slopes all day, you don’t need to overload your evenings with activities. Plan to drink hot chocolate, sit around the fire and talk about your day.
