Is your family one of the lucky ones that gets to travel during the fall months? Most families have to take their big family vacations during the summer months when the kids are out of school, but some families are able to take the time out during the fall to spend some together. They’re lucky because fall family travel is a great experience. You get to bypass the crowds of summer at major destinations and get a discount on much of the travel and lodging since it’s the off-season. And you also get to take your family to see sights that they wouldn’t normally get to see because they’re specific to the autumn months.
One of those sights is a corn MAiZE. The corn MAiZE is exactly what it sounds like, a human-size maze made of corn that you ad your family can enjoy getting a lost in. The MAiZE is a company that actually designs these mazes for locations all throughout the world and which has been doing so for the last dozen years. But it all started with their first maze out in Utah. If you and your family have the opportunity to travel to Utah to this specific maze, it’s a great fall destination. The weather in Utah is neither hot nor cool during the fall months and so it’s a great place to spend some time outdoors. You can enjoy the MAiZE there and then see what else the area has to offer.

But if you can’t make it out to Utah or are just looking for a quick fall family trip near home, you can still make a MAiZE your destination. There are over 190 of these mazes located all around the country so you can pick a destination that’s close to you (or one that you just think sounds like a place you’d like to see with your family) and go enjoy the area. Each of the mazes offers something unique to the area around it so you might even find that you want to make visiting a new maze each year something of an annual fall family tradition.
Technically, you can visit a corn MAiZE during any time of year that the particular one you’re interested in is open, but it’s best during the fall because that’s the season that’s most often associated with corn. Nearly all of the mazes are open during September and October. You have Thanksgiving around the corner so you can use the opportunity to teach your kids about the seasons and holidays while enjoying this unique family travel experience. Plus, you’ll be surrounded by the changing colors of leaves on the trees all around you so you’ll get the full autumn experience. And many of these mazes offer additional seasonal opportunities like pumpkin-picking in nearby patches or apple cider drinking at the local café.
